We start out our spring snow goose hunts in northern Arkansas, in early February. As the spring progresses and the big flocks move north, so do we. Our next stop is central Missouri and from there we move up to NW Missouri, and then end up in South Dakota. We strategically pick our stopping points to areas that have millions of snow geese staging and migrating through. We have a great amount of success hunting over large spreads of Sillosocks and Dakota full body decoys. We have averaged 15 to 30 birds per day. With some hunts exceeding 50 plus bird days. On your hunt you can expect to hunt on private grounds, over large SilloSock and / or Dakota Decoy spreads. Each hunter will have his own F. A. brand X-lander layout blind. Groups of 6 hunters will receive their own experienced guide and field.
A Typical Day:
You will awaken at our lodge well before sunrise as your guide makes last minute preparations. After breakfast it is just a short drive to the field for the day’s well planned hunt. We will generally meet with you the night before the hunt to introduce ourselves and the guides. We typically like to reach the field an hour or so before legal shooting time. At that time your guide will go over the daily details along with safety rules and bird identification. The typical day's layout is to hunt snow geese until around noon and then break for lunch and a quick nap. Then it’s back at the field for the evening flight. After the hunt we will return to the lodge where a hot home cooked meal is awaiting you. From there it’s cocktails for the night owls or a good night’s sleep for those ready for bed. At Goose and Duck Smackers, we strive to leave the field everyday having achieved the highest quality snow goose hunting memories possible. We look forward to you joining the Goose and Duck Smackers family.
ALSO OFFERING: South Dakota Spring Snow Goose Hunts
By the time the snow geese make it to South Dakota these geese have flown up from Texas and the Gulf Coast and they're looking to get north to the tundra breeding grounds. The only thing holding them back is weather and fatigue. This gives us a great opportunity for some incredible snow goose hunting. The job of our snow goose guides is to figure out the line where weather and fatigue are enough to cause the flocks of snow geese to locate a feeding field and land for the day. Each day one of our snow goose hunting guides spends their morning in the truck scouting for fields to use the following day(s). We scout everyday to make sure your guided snow goose hunt is a success!
Lodging And Meals
Included in our All Inclusive Arkansas Snow Goose Hunting Packages in a stay at our beautiful lodge with all the amenities of home. You will enjoy your own private room (each room sleeps 2 hunters) as well as a continental breakfast each morning and a hot delicious dinner after the hunt. We encourage each hunter to bring plenty of snacks and something to drink while out in the field. A morning of hunting can seem like a lifetime if you don't have something cool to wet to drink before lunch break. Better yet, bring a nice, big thermos of coffee for your guides. That being said, don't even think about alcohol. Safety is our top priority and there's no place for hunters under the influence. Feel free to enjoy a nice cocktail after dinner back at the lodge before we hit the hay for another action packed day in the field!

However, I absolutely fell in love with spring snow goose hunting and I have been guiding for snow geese for over 10 years now all across the Midwest. I really enjoy trying new areas and have I have hunted in Texas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa,
Missouri and of course, Arkansas. I also work for Calef Calls and have worked on some of the video hunts. In the off season I also enjoy competing in duck and goose calling contests. I look forward to sharing time with you in the field soon!
