Typical Day
No matter which of our seven locations that you are staying at, every morning you will wake up to incredible views and wildlife all around you. Depending on which type of fish we are going after that day will determine if we are using a boat or wading out into the water to find the fish. On your trip you can stumble upon caribou, moose, grizzly bears, muskox and even century old tee-pees. In this land of indescribable beauty only understood once you've seen it, some guests find it challenging to stay focused on fishing! We strive to make every effort we can for you to have the experience of a lifetime!
Also Offering: Musk Ox Hunting
We go above and beyond to ensure your success starting the hunt at our main lodge on Great Bear Lake with all the amenities and famous lake trout fishing. We have outstanding guides and Musk Ox & Caribou herds are found all around this great lake. Flights by float plane to position hunters in proximity to the herds around Great Bear Lake is included as necessary. There is no wait time required for our hunters after flying into the field in float planes. We land and we hunt! Groups will go into the field early in the morning by boat or float plane and be home for cocktails, finishing the day in the luxury of the main lodge.

Musk Ox single tag - USD $10,000 Dates: August 17 - 24, 2013. Seven day hunts. Includes: Air transportation to and from Yellowknife to the camp, meals and accommodations, air transport into the field to access herds, 1 guide per hunter, hunting license, tags, fishing license, transport of meat and horns to Yellowknife, field handling of meat and trophy.

The location of our Great Slave Lake Lodge was discovered by Warren Plummer and his father by canoe in 1938 but with the Plummer’s being pioneers in aviation it was not long before airplanes on floats and skis were being used by the family to explore beyond the frontier.
