About The Outfitter:
Outfitters James Frerking and Rex Shoot have been guiding spring snow goose hunters in southern Illinois since 2003. James has been guiding waterfowl hunters across Illinois since he was 18 years old. James has a passion not only for waterfowl / snow goose hunting, but to offer his customers a comfortable, ethical, memorable hunting experience. Rex has also been guiding waterfowl hunters in southern Illinois virtually his entire life and shares the same passion and enthusiasm for the sport.
Since the Canada goose hunting in southern Illinois went south over the last couple decades the guys had to get creative and jumped on the opportunity of the spring snow goose conservation season with the huge flocks of snow geese that started staging in the area refuges. James and Rex now have permanent pit blinds overlooking flooded fields for their hunters. They have also taken the spring snow goose hunting in southern Illinois to another level by creating their own line of snow goose decoys that they now have in full production and sell to avid snow goose hunters across the country. With all of the hard work and effort put into their operation Snows Unlimited has gained the reputation of having a first class spring snow goose hunting experience in southern Illinois!

Illinois Spring Snow Goose Hunts
At Snows Unlimited we started offering fully guided spring snow goose hunts in 2003. We focus completely on Spring Snow Geese Only!!! We are situated near 5 main refuges that hold upwards 200,000 – 800,000 snow geese at peak. At all times we have at least three spreads of 1,500 – 2,500 snow goose and blue goose decoys set up. We run approximately 30% blue goose decoys in our spreads. We also run our own custom flapper decoys to simulate landing birds and run mostly our own line of S.U. X- treme snow goose decoys. We make sure you are completely comfortable during your hunt so all of our fields offer 27 foot heated pit blinds for our hunters, with a maximum of 4 - 8 hunters depending on your group size. We run our guided snow goose hunts from February 1- March 15 each spring.
A Typical Day:
We usually meet our hunters at 5:30 am. From there you will follow your hunting guide to your field for the day. You will arrive to a pre-set spread of 1,500 – 2,500 our own line of custom decoys. You will be hunting out of a 27 foot custom pit blind with heaters and cooking facilities. You are welcome to bring your own food to cook throughout the day as this is a Full Days Hunt! In fact with the 5 refuges located with in 20 miles of our fields, we have found the best hunting to be had between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. You are more then welcome to bring your trained retrievers and groups of 6 – 8 hunters will be assured of their own field during the hunt. Groups of 4 hunters or less may be placed with a smaller group and will be guaranteed that there will be no more than 6 hunters in the field total. We also run several spreads so you will have the option of hunting a new field each day if you choose. This is YOUR HUNT- We are here to make sure you have a most enjoyable spring snow goose hunting adventure!

In addition to our fantastic Illinois snow goose hunts, we have recently designed our own line of snow goose and blue goose decoys called S. U. X- treme Decoys. Snows Unlimited X- treme windsocks, move into the wind without touching them. After years of field testing and thousands of hours in the taxidermy shop, this decoy consist of a realistic head with awesome feather detail done by hand with the addition of the key patent pending balance point to move this decoy into the wind. Lodging And Meals
With all of our Illinois Spring Snow Goose Daily Packages we have made arrangements for lodging and meals but they are not included in your daily rates. We have an on-site 5 bedroom hunting lodge available for our hunters at $35.00 per night. Although this is not a 5 Star Lodge, it is warm and clean and has room for all of our hunters with running water, along with bathroom and kitchen facilities. There are also traditional motels located with in 30 miles from the field also available
We conduct all of our spring snow goose hunts from 27 foot enclosed pit blinds which also come equipped with cooking facilities and heaters in the blind for our hunters to bring their own food so we can hunt all day comfortable without leaving the field. We also have on-site porta poddies for your bathroom needs.
