Located in western Minnesota along the Minnesota river valley, the local Eastern turkey population has exploded in our area over the past 5 – 10 years. We are located in Zone 422. Host Todd Johnson has a beautiful lodge resort on the border waters of Lake Traverse and has many private turkey hunting properties that are full of big gobblers! Todd has been hosting Minnesota turkey hunters for the past 5 years and has high success rates as the photos below can attest. Bring the boat and enjoy a morning turkey hunt / afternoon fishing combo. Due to the fact that Minnesota is a lottery drawing please contact Todd Johnson for details on which season to put in for before the December lottery drawing. Note: there are left over tags in zone 422 each spring and late season turkey hunters have had high success rates as well.

A Typical Day:

Todd has his Minnesota turkey hunters arrive the afternoon before the first day of their scheduled hunt dates to get checked into the resort and maybe wet a line before the grand tour. Todd has numerous pre-scouted areas available for his turkey hunters. Todd will take you and your group out around sunset to put the birds to bed and show you where you will be hunting the next day. Due to the fact that this is a self-guided turkey hunt, you are responsible for all of your own gear- decoys, calls, camo etc. The next morning plan to be up before dawn and at your spot at least a ½ hour before sunrise. You are on your own for the day to hunt the way you want to hunt. Many of our Minnesota turkey hunting customers are successful the first day and elect to stay and fish walleyes and northern on Lake Traverse for the next day or two.

The Wing n Fin Resort is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Traverse. Lake Traverse is one of the top walleye fishing destinations in Minnesota according to the MN DNR. Due to the fact that we are a border waters destination, our fishing opener is in mid April each spring. Thus our spring turkey hunters are able to take advantage of the exceptional early area fishing and are more than welcome to bring the boat and use our private launch and docks or just fish off the docks. Our spring fishing is great for northern, walleyes and panfish.
