During the month of November we joined The Watson Hunting Camp for a fantastic Canada goose and pheasant combo hunt in western Minnesota. Owner / Outfitter Chuck Ellingson shared a wonderful experience for my father and myself with an overall satisfying hunting experience. With an overabundance of Canada geese and Pheasants in the area we had a fun filled two day hunting experience! You have to read all about this one!
At the Watson Hunting Camp we specialize in offering you a High Quality Canada goose Hunting Experience. Located in the heart of the Lac Qui Parle Wildlife Refuge in western Minnesota. The refuge annually holds over 100,000 geese all the way until January. Giving us some of the best goose hunting in Minnesota. Our goose hunting opportunities are very diverse and plentiful. Each of our Canada goose hunts are conducted over high quality full body decoy spreads, new layout blinds with experienced guides and retrievers. With the recent changes in daily limits we are now able to take up to 3 Canada geese each day! Conveniently located only 2 1/2 hours west of the Twin Cities. A Typical Day:
Each day we are out in the field scouting before the next day of hunting ensuring that we will have a fresh field for your hunt. After a good night sleep at The Watson Hunting Lodge we will head out to the field or boat to get the hunt started! Unlike the traditional state blind pass shooting method, at the Watson Hunting Camp WE DO NOT PASS SHOOT GEESE! We want the geese landing in our decoy spreads right in-your-face! When the morning hunt is complete its time to head back to the lodge for lunch and a nap if you would like. In the afternoon you have the option to take advantage of more waterfowl hunting or head out after some Minnesota pheasants! After the hunting for the day is over its time to enjoy a good meal at the lodge, tell stories at our full service bar, and get another good nights rest. Before we do it all again tomorrow!

At the Watson Hunting Camp we offer several fantastic Minnesota duck hunting packages! Our featured hunt is our big water duck hunts. Our Minnesota duck hunts are conducted on local reservoirs home to thousands of ducks throughout the year. Each hunt is conducted from out custom 18 foot boat blind. This is not only a fast action duck hunt for many different species of ducks but a comfortable hunt as we have heaters on our late season hunts, as well as comfortable chairs for our hunters. This is also an excellentearly season hunt and can be combined with an afternoon pheasant hunt for those who like to go all day. Be sure to contact us ASAP as we have a high return rate each fall!
Lodging And Meals
At The Watson Hunting Camp we offer hunters looking for a get away to western Minnesota, an opportunity to spend time at our lodge overlooking the Laq Qui Parle Refuge near Watson, Minnesota. We are only 2 ½ hours west of the Twin Cities. We have an on-site 8 bedroom lodge as well as an 8 person private bunkhouse. We also offer RV Hook ups. At the lodge we also offer a full service bar and lounge to relax at after the hunt. Come for the day…stay for the weekend!

About The Outfitter
Chuck Ellingson grew up hunting in western, MN. Hunting Canada geese around the Lac Qui Parle area with his dad was one of Chuck’s passions since he was able to carry a gun. In 2003 Chuck took his passion and turned it into a career starting the Watson Hunting Camp. With great hunting, great food and lodging as well as a great place to have a couple beers after the hunt, Chuck has a little western Minnesota paradise overlooking the Lac Qui Parle Refuge.
