| About The Outfitter: Granite Springs is managed and operated by Larry, Kevin and Brennan Yeo. The Yeo family has lived, farmed and owned various businesses in S.D since the early 1960's. Recently, Lee Lake, a private lake 15 miles from Mitchell, SD, came onto the market, making it possible to build Granite Springs lodge on one of the most beautiful exclusive lakes in eastern SD. Our Philosophy: Wild Birds, Small groups, Great dogs, Easy Living. We measure success by the experiences taken away by our guests. We understand that a hunt isn’t always measured by the number of birds killed, or miles walked. We give you the hunting experience we’d want our sons and daughters to have on their first hunt: to wake in the morning with the anticipation of catching a rainbow trout, watching the mallards circle or see that clay burst into fragments with a well aimed shot; of spending the afternoon with friends walking the fields, watching the dogs quarter in front of you and retrieving that roster you brought down. |

Upland Pheasant Hunt
Brennan and I ensure a great hunt as we handle the dogs and you do the shooting. Our hunts are conducted in Classic upland style in groups of 8-10, using both walkers and blockers, our flushing dogs or you may bring your own dog. While hunting a combination of CRP grasslands, food plots and shelterbelts we ensure you’re presented with plenty of birds and some challenging wingshooting.
Full Service Hunts Include: Lodging, Professionally Trained Bird Dogs, Local Transportation, Sporting Clays, Trout Fishing on a private spring fed lake, Meals prepared by a professional chef, Adult Beverages, Shells, Bird Cleaning and Private Kennels for Guests dog. | |

A Typical Day:
Breakfast is served between 8-10am buffet style allowing those who wish to ample opportunity to sleep in. During your morning coffee you can decide either to shoot some clays or fish for rainbows until it’s time to go pheasant hunting. In South Dakota the season doesn’t start for pheasants until mid day, so around 11am we’ll gather your group at the front of the lodge. The hunt will be conducted in classic upland drive and block style. The day can be paced as fast or as leisurely as you wish. Our experienced staff members will ensure a safe carefree hunt as we handle the details and you do the shooting. Around 5 pm we will be back at the lodge to clean up. Then it’s relaxing before supper with a cocktail or perhaps fishing for an hour before dark. | |

We understand that not everyone has the same requirements, desires or budget. That enjoyment is often gained by planning and executing the hunt by yourself with your friends and the dogs that you trained. With that in mind, we are also offering a Self Guided Pheasant Hunting opportunity. We have dedicated several hundred acres of our prime pheasant hunting property for those who are looking for a place to hunt in South Dakota without the extra amenities. Lodging And Meals:
Granite Springs was built in 2006 with the hunter in mind. Combining the modern connivances of wireless internet, big screen TV’s and gas fireplaces with the western practicality of wood floors, leather couches and central air, it makes the 10,000 sq feet of wooden floors seem like a hunters home. Each of the 16 bedrooms are decorated in a different game theme and is furnished with two full size beds and private baths.
Breakfast and supper are served in the main dining room overlooking the lake. Breakfast is an all you can eat mid western buffet that the chief makes fresh each morning. A light lunch is served in the field or at the lodge weather depending. Each night the chief presents salads, soups and then some combination of two main dishes, either Prime Rib, Duck, Pheasant, Salmon, Buffalo Ribs or Tenderloin. |
