Our Philosophy: When we receive calls from people who we have never met before and they book a bear hunt (place their trust) with us, it means so much. Normally gaining some ones trust is supposed to be earned first. Our goal is to give you the best Wisconsin bear hunting opportunity possible and we work very hard in doing so. For you to know that once you return home, you know without a doubt that we did everything possible to make your hunt successful, that is our goal. One stand, per hunter, per year with a backup. It’s your bear hunt, it’s your time. We pride ourselves when we can say the phrase of having (repeat customers) and we want to keep it that way. No such thing as over the counter tags here! |

FEATURED HUNTS:

Wisconsin Black Bear Hunts
We offer over bait hunts only in Zones D and A. With thousands of acres to hunt, of which 90% is private land. With all the pre-scouting done, all stations are pre-baited well ahead of time and easily accessible stands are put in place before you arrive. We will also help retrieve your bear. We have access to two walk in coolers available. No matter what you hunt with bow, rifle, black powder, crossbow or pistol; we can accommodate. With the limited amount of tags each year, this has enabled many bear to get to trophy size. Our population of bear is very good with many respectable bears. Chances of obtaining a trophy sized bear are also very good. Our typical bow stands are 12’-14’ high with an average bow shot of 15-20 yards. We are not a jack of all trades, offering fishing, deer, and small game hunts- we specialize in one thing and that is Wisconsin guided bear hunts only!

A Typical Day:
The morning always brings another day of enthusiasm for everyone. After eating breakfast or having a cup of coffee the baits are checked and new plans are made for the evening event. This is the time when our bear hunters who are still looking for that trophy re-check their equipment and take some real life practice shots either with their bow or rifle at camp. Others who have scored often can take four wheeler rides, fish at local lakes or streams or in season do some small game hunting and or bow hunting for deer. After a quick lunch everyone returns back to their stands for another hunt. Once another bruin has been taken down many of the bear hunters that are in camp like to come and help retrieve the bear which we encourage. Everyone can enjoy the weighing in of the bear and be part of someone else’s long time dream. The typical war stories are then told around the campfire until everyone retires for the evening. | |

Joe~
I can’t thank you enough for my hunt. That could be a once in a lifetime bear at 460 lbs. Your stands were set-up in good positions. It was evident that there was much thought put into where you baited and you worked your tail off for everyone to get an opportunity at a bear. If you see Joe Shuette, thank him for sending me your way
Again thanks,
Don Petitt Fort Atkinson, WI

Lodging And Meals: (What Set Us Apart From The Others)
We meant what we said when we mentioned that this is YOUR HUNT. We do not offer an all inclusive Wisconsin bear hunting package-we offer something better. Certain bear like certain things just like people do. Some like to stay in a camper, some like to stay in a hotel. Others like to stay at our camp which have all the facilities, including an inside bathroom and shower and will accommodate several people with ample space. Some want lobster and steak every night while others will settle for a sandwich. We don’t want you to pay for something that you don’t want just because it’s wrapped up in a package. If you are planning a Wisconsin bear hunt for the next year and are serious about booking with us the most helpful thing you can do for yourself is to contact me before you submit your application for a harvest permit for the next year. Preferably in October once the current bear season is over. Once I have asked you a series of questions I can recommend what unit (D or A) to apply for so the bear hunt fits you. Everything you want from lodging, meals, processing, taxidermy, stand location distances, etc can be answered and detailed so it’s what works for you. Please express any fears (such as heights) or special needs you may have to me and I will do my best to accommodate you in any way I can. Phone calls are best when trying to hammer out details feel free to call me anytime- and if I am not readily available I will return your call as soon as possible. |

 | About The Outfitter: Hello, my name is Joe Kalmon owner of Mt. Whittlesey Guide Service. I was born, raised and have spent most of my life in northern Wisconsin, particulary in the Mellen and Bad River Indian Reservation area. In doing so provided me with three things since childhood-the chance to learn the lay of the land, how to hunt the bear that live here and the time given to me to establish many, many friendships offering you for the most part the chance to hunt on privately owned property. Your bear hunt is important to me- I realize how long it takes to acquire a tag and I will take the time with you to detail out everything you need in order to make your next Wisconsin bear hunting adventure a success. |

Hunting Rates And Packages:
Wisconsin Bear Hunting Packages: We offer a very unique bear hunting option. All of our Wisconsin bear hunters receive their own active bait that WILL NOT have another bear hunter in it for the entire season. What that means is that up until your reserved bear hunt date, we will have an active baited stand ready and waiting for you. After your bear hunt, if you are not successful and / or choose to pass on a bear for any reason, you have the option of coming back and hunting that stand anytime throughout the rest of that Wisconsin bear hunting season. We have private property and active bait sites in both Zones A and D. We are currently offering 5 day Wisconsin bear hunting packages, please contact outfitter Joe Kalmon for specific pricing and package options. For an extra fee we will also continue to bait for you through the season. Again, please contact Wisconsin bear hunting outfitter Joe Kalmon for more details on these exclusive Wisconsin bear hunting packages. |
