About The Taxidermist

Professional taxidermist Dale Houser founded Dakota Plains Taxidermy Studio back in 2002 after completing his taxidermy coarse at Northwest Iowa school of Taxidermy in Spirit Lake Iowa. Dale has always had a passion for hunting and fishing, so he decided to make a career as a professional taxidermist. Upon starting the business, he also started competing. Dale continues competing and attending seminars to learn new techniques. Dakota Plains Taxidermy is not just another taxidermy studio. Dale’s motto is- “The closer you look, the better we look”. Dale is committed to preserving your trophies with high quality work using the best materials and techniques at a reasonable price.

Dakota Plains Taxidermy is located in south central S.D. For shipping trophy birds and animals to Dakota Plains Taxidermy there are a few easy options. If you live in the SpeeDee shipping area that is the best way for shipping items that can be boxed or crated or ship with UPS, Fed Ex or postal service. Wildgame Transport is also another option for shipping larger specimens to be mounted. If you are planning to travel overseas please call Dakota Plains ahead of time to get shipping tags and shipping arrangements made. Dakota Plains Taxidermy also has several options for getting your mount delivered back to you with SpeeDee delivery, Fed Ex, Trophy Transport or personally delivering it our self.
