2008 Minnesota Waterfowl Hunting Seasons: The 2008 Minnesota Early Canada Goose Hunting season will run from September 6, 2008 through September 22, 2008. The limit is 5 Canada geese per day and 10 Canada geese in possession. The 2008 regular waterfowl hunting season will open on October 4, 2008. 2008 Wisconsin Waterfowl Hunting Seasons: The 2008 Wisconsin Early Canada Goose Hunting season will run from September 1, 2008 through September 15, 2008. The limit is 5 Canada geese per day and 10 Canada geese in possession. The regular fall duck hunting season is broken down into two zones, the northern zone and the southern zone. The Northern Zone will run from September 27, 2008 November 25, 2008. The Southern Zone will run from October 4 12 and then from October 18 December 7, 2008. The daily bag limit is 6 ducks- no more than 4 mallards of which only 1 may be a hen, 3 wood ducks, 1 black duck, 2 redheads, 1 scaup for 40 days and 2 for 20 days, 1 pintail (60 days). The Canvasback Season is CLOSED this year. There are also special scaup hunting regulations for this year as well. The possession limit is 12 ducks and is double the bag limit for each specific species. The regular fall Canada goose season is broken down into several zones. The exterior northern zone will run from September 20, 2008 December 13, 2008. The exterior southern zone will run from September 20 October 12 and then from October 18 December 20, 2008. The Mississippi River Subzone will run from October 4 October 12 and then from October 18 January 1, 2009. The limit is 2 Canada geese per day and 4 Canada geese in possession. 2008 North Dakota Waterfowl Hunting Seasons: The 2008 North Dakota Early Canada Goose Hunting season will run from August 15, 2008 September 15, 2008. There is also a special Missouri River Zone that will run from August 15, 2008 September 7, 2008. The limit is 5 geese per day and 10 Canada geese in possession. The regular fall waterfowl hunting season will be broken down into 2 zones: The Low Plaines Zone and The High Plains Zone. For Residents: The Low Plains Zone will run from September 27, 2008 December 7, 2008. For Non-Residents: The Low Plains Zone will run from October 4, 2008 December 7, 2008. For Residents: The High Plains Zone will run from September 27, 2008 December 7, 2008. It will then reopen from December 13, 2008 January 4, 2008. For Non-Residents: The High Plains Zone will run from October 4, 2008 December 7, 2008. It will then reopen from December 13, 2008 January 4, 2008. The daily bag limit on ducks is 5 per day and 10 ducks in possession. The species and sex restrictions as follows: 2 scaup, 2 redheads, 2 wood ducks, only 1 from the following group: 1 hen mallard, or 1 pintail, or 1 canvasback. The daily limit of 5 mergansers may include no more than 2 hooded mergansers. The Canada goose hunting seasons are open statewide for Residents from September 27, 2008- December 25, 2008 and for Non-residents from October 4, 2008 December 25, 2008 (except for the Missouri River Zone which closes on January 2, 2009). The limit is 3 Canada geese per day and 6 in possession. The Light goose season is open statewide from Residents from September 27, 2008 January 2, 2009 and for Non-residents from October 4, 2008 January 2, 2009. The daily limit is 20 light geese and there is no possession limit. The White fronted goose hunting season is open statewide for Residents from September 27, 2008- December 7, 2008 and for Non-residents from October 4, 2008 December 7, 2008. 2008 South Dakota Waterfowl Hunting Seasons: The Early Canada goose hunting season will run from September 6, 2008 September 26, 2008. Note: There are several counties that are NOT open to hunting for Non-residents for the early Canada goose hunting season. The limits are 5 Canada geese per day and 10 Canada geese in possession. The South Dakota regular fall duck hunting season will be broken down into 4 zones. The High Plains Zone will run from October 4, 2008 January 4, 2008. The Low Plains- North Zone will run from September 27, 2008 December 9, 2008. The Low Plains- Middle Zone will run from September 27, 2008 December 9, 2008. The Low Plains South Zone will run from October 11, 2008 December 23, 2008. The limit is 5 ducks per day and 10 ducks in possession. Of that there may not be more then 2 scaup, 2 wood ducks, 2 redheads and EITHER 1 hen mallard, 1 pintail OR 1 canvasback daily. The regular fall Canada goose hunting season will be broken down into 3 Units. Unit 1 will run from September 27, 2008 December 21, 2008. Unit 2 will run from November 1, 2008 February 13, 2009. Unit 3 will run from January 10, 2009 January 18, 2009. The limit is 3 Canada geese per day and 6 Canada geese in possession. The White fronted goose hunting season will run from September 27, 2008 December 21, 2008 statewide. The limit is 1 white fronted goose per day and 2 in possession. The Light goose hunting season will run from September 27, 2008 December 21, 2008 statewide. The limit is 20 light geese per day and no possession limit. 2008 Iowa Waterfowl Hunting Seasons: The Early Canada goose hunting season will run from September 1, 2008 September 15, 2008. The limit will be 5 Canada geese per day and 10 Canada geese in possession. The fall statewide duck hunting season will run from September 20, 2008 September 24, 2008 and then from October 18, 2008 December 11, 2008. The limit will be 6 ducks per day and 10 in possession of which there may not be more then 4 mallards (2 hens) per day, 3 wood ducks per day, 1 pintail per day, 1 black duck per day, 2 red heads per day, 1 scaup per day- except from Nov 1 Nov 20 (2 scaup per day), and the canvasback season is closed this year. The fall Canada goose hunting season will run from September 27, 2008 October 5, 2008 and October 18, 2008 December 21, 2008 and from December 27, 2008 January 11, 2009. The limit is 2 Canada geese per day and 4 in possession. The White fronted goose hunting season will run from September 27, 2008 December 7, 2008. The limit is 2 Canada geese per day and 4 in possession. The Light goose hunting season will run from September 27, 2008 January 11, 2009 and January 12, 2009 April 15, 2009. The limit is 20 Light geese per day and no possession limit. Note: There will be no specific waterfowl hunting zones in Iowa for this fall. 2008 Nebraska Waterfowl Hunting Seasons: The Early Teal Season will be broken down into two zones. The High Plains Zone will run from September 13, 2008 September 21, 2008. The Low Plains Zone will run from September 6, 2008 September 21, 2008. The limit is 4 teal per day and 8 teal in possession. The early Canada goose hunting season will run from September 6, 2008 September 14, 2008. the limit is 5 Canada geese per day and 10 Canada geese in possession. The regular fall duck hunting season will be broken down into two zones. The High Plains Zone will run from October 11, 2008 January 14, 2009. The Low Plains Zone will run from October 18 2008, October 19, 2008 and from October 25, 2008 January 4, 2009. NOTE: There are specific seasons in each zone for Pintails and Canvasbacks for the 2008 hunting season. The limit will be 5 ducks per day and 10 ducks in possession. Of those there may be 5 mallards per day (no more then 2 hens), 2 red heads per day, 2 wood ducks per day, 1 pintail per day (during the pintail season) 1 canvasback per day (during the canvasback season), 1 scaup per day, 5 mergansers per day 9no more then 2 hooded mergansers).The 2008 Canada goose hunting season will be broken down into 5 specific zones. The limit will be 3 Canada geese per day and 6 Canada geese in possession. The 2008 white fronted goose hunting season will run from October 11, 2008 December 21, 2008 statewide. The limit is 2 white fronted geese per day and 6 white fronted geese in possession. The 2008 Light goose hunting season will run from October 11, 2008 January 11, 2009 and from January 26, 2009 February 6, 2009. The limit is 20 Light geese per day and no possession limit.
