Here at Sandstone Retrievers, our goal is to produce the highest quality puppies possible. Sandstone Retrievers is a sporting dog breeding facility, catering to the needs of Sportsmen of all sorts. We provide puppies for the hunter and for those participating in Field Trials and Hunt Tests. Sandstone Retrievers is owned and operated by Jeff and Jan Baylor.

Our dogs participate in both HRC and AKC hunt tests. Our goal for our breeding females is for them to achieve Hunting Retriever Champion HRCH title or a Master Hunter MH Title with a few of them participating in Quals. Sandstone Retrievers puppies have been very competitive in the hunt test game, and are showing great natural ability as hunters.

We believe that the Labrador Retriever is the ultimate working dog along with family companion. My wife and daughters spend time socializing each puppy to ensure they are ready for their new homes when it is time. My breeding philosophy is to breed our females to males that are titled in multiple venues. We typically breed to males titled in the APLA so I never have to ask the owner if their dog hunts and titled in the AKC or HRC. All dogs are ran in hunt tests and are trained solely by myself. Our dogs are very trainable, intelligent and stylish. They are a great mix of family dogs with great drive in the field.

For over thirteen years I have devoted my life to training and breeding labs. The respect and time I devote to this profession is what makes ME the kind of trainer YOU want for a dog. My dogs all compete at trials, hunt tests & gundog championships. In addition to my Labrador breeding program, I am a full-time pro trainer and hunting guide. Just as each student learns differently, I have learned that dogs learn differently as well. My patience, persistence and devotion is what sets my dogs apart!

SPECIALIZING IN PREMIER HUNTING LABRADOR PUPPIES

At Northern Plains Retrievers we offer a few select breedings a year that will produce Black, Chocolate, and Yellow Labrador retriever puppies. The dogs we breed are chosen from pointing lab bloodlines or hunt test / field trial lines. Our Labrador Breedings produce dogs with drive, a cooperative attitude, good looks and confirmation, strength, and brains. We love to get these pups back for training due to their strong instincts, great noses, and high level of intelligence. The disposition of one of these will make it as fine of a family dog as it is a hunting dog!
