The unit works very effectively on most every type of waterfowl game bird. The only preparation that is needed is to pull the skin and feathers away from the breast meat. From there it is as simple as impaling the bird onto the main stainless steel tubing and pulling the lever back. Leaving a perfectly cleaned game bird, legal for transportation with a fully feathered wing attached. This unit also works very well on pheasants and larger species of upland birds but it’s downfall is not being very effective on smaller upland type game birds. The other downfall is the storage of the unit in transportation on trips as it does not come in a bag and is a little cumbersome in size.

The unit is made from a very durable light weight, food grade stainless steel design. The stainless steel part of the unit detaches quickly from either the bench mount plate or trailer hitch tubing with 4 wing nuts. The trailer hitch tubing breaks down into 2 pieces and being aluminum are light weight and compactable for travel. Setting unit up is very easy and straight forward in a matter of 2 minutes. Clean up on the stainless unit is also fast depending on water source availability. The stainless steel tubing used in the device is the only piece you need to be careful with, due to its penetration capabilities during storage.

The final product is very impressive- a fully cleaned game bird ready for transportation. With the pull of a lever and the speed and safe operation of this unit, the overall operation is unmatched in the industry today. The Wild Wing Slinger is a bird cleaning device that has been field tested in south eastern Nebraska since the first Federal spring snow goose conservation season started in 1998. It now totals cleaning bird numbers in the thousands. The process of cleaning birds with this device is a fast, efficient and safe method. The end result is a clean breast of meat with a fully feathered wing attached to the breast bone which is legal for transport. The only preparation that needs to be done is pulling the skin and feathers away from the breast meat and with a simple pull of the lever you have a fully cleaned bird!

I have personally been able to field test this amazing bird cleaning device over the past 2 hunting seasons with Central Flyways Best Guide Service. I have had a chance to use this device on 100's of snow geese over the last couple springs and I have traveled all across the country from North Dakota to Texas in the last 2 falls using the Wild Wing Slinger on ducks, Canada geese, Snow geese, Specks and Sandhill cranes with excellent results. Furthermore this device works on larger upland game birds such as pheasants and sharptail grouse. It does not work very well on smaller upland birds such as ruffed grouse, quail and partridge, doves and woodcock though.
