Welcome To HuntTheNorth.com's Alaska Waterfowl Hunting Section |
|
| At HuntTheNorth.com we have been actively researching many of the top hunting guides and outfitters across the country since 2003. We have then hand picked a very select few of what we feel are “Quality Outfitters” in each state to endorse through our service. We are endorsing one specific outfitter in Alaska for a fantastic sea duck hunting adventure. Below is a detailed listing on the outfitter of our choice for you to review and contact. Enjoy reading why we have decided to endorse the following Alaska waterfowl hunting outfitter.
Sincerely,
Dan Wennerlind President HuntTheNorth.com |

SPECIALIZING IN WORLD CLASS ALASKAN SEA DUCK HUNTS
|
|
During the month of December we were able to enjoy a fantastic Alaskan sea duck hunting adventure with Kodiak Sports And Tour. This was more than just a waterfowl hunt, it was truly an adventure. We were able to hunt numerous species of sea ducks and waterfowl as well as hunt red and silver fox and sport fish for halibut. We also saw orca whales, sea otters and sea lions. The lodging and meals were also five star. Together this was all part of why we were able to name Kodiak Sports and Tour The HuntTheNorth.com 2008 Outfitter Of The Year!

A Typical Day:
Expect to arise around 7:00 am to a hot breakfast that most cannot finish. From there we take our time getting ready to head out to sea. There is no rush as it does not get light until 9:00 am. On our way out to sea we may stop off for a quick pass to see if the Halibut bite is on or for those properly licesned we may take a look for one of the islands many trophy red and silver foxes. From there we make our way to our hunting grounds. Groups of four hunters are ideal as we do two sets targeting specific species on each. You will be the only group of hunters in camp during your stay. The first set will be about a ½ mile out at sea out of out two man layout boat, on feeding grounds for Old Squaws, Harlequin ducks and all three species of Scoters. The second set will be a shore set up for Common and Barrows Golden eyes as well as both species of Mergansers and Harlequin ducks. You may have an opportunity at some puddle ducks from shore as well. After a few hours we will pick up, have a hot lunch on the tender boat as we move for our second set up of the day. Throughout the day expect to see several species of whales, seals and sea lions as we travel- the wildlife scenery is truly amazing here! The hunt will wrap up around dark and we will head back to a cozy 5 star lodge for a hot sea food / steak dinner to relax and relive the days adventures. After supper it is time to relax on a couch, in front of the big screen with a cocktail, before drifting off to sleep pleasantly exhausted.

ALSO OFFERING: Halibut Fishing, Fox Hunting and Self-Guided Sitka Deer Hunts
To enhance the overall quality of your Alaskan Adventure, if you choose to purchase the proper licensing, we are also able to incorporate Halibut fishing and Fox hunting into your package for no additional charge. The fishing this time of year is not as hot as it is during the summer months but our hunters are still very successful and are able to take home a good amount of fresh halibut. In addition to the fishing, we also offer fantastic trophy silver and red fox hunting. We offer two styles of hunting the island foxes. For those who do not want to take a lot of time away from their duck hunting, on our way to and from the duck hunting locations we are able to scan the shorelines and harvest a trophy fox. For those who do enjoy predator hunting, we can take a morning and to stalk and call in a trophy fox. This is a very fast action, enjoyable experience and our hunters have very high success on their fox hunts.
We also offer a self guided Sitka black tailed deer hunt. This hunt is separate from the sea duck hunt package. Please email us if you would like more info on this specific hunt.
