 | About The Outfitter: Hello, I'm your host Shawn Eldredge. I have over 30 years of Mississippi Flyway duck and goose hunting experience. Come along and join my yellow lab "Molly Cornflake", and myself and we will show you a very memorable waterfowl hunting trip. I have been guiding waterfowl hunters for over 20 years. I also have a loyal group of guides that promise to provide you with an experience in the field that you will be talking about for years to come. Our Philosophy: Praries Edge was conceived with the philosophy of giving our clients the opportunity to experience a professionally guided waterfowl hunt within a short drive of Des Moines, Iowa. Tens of thousands of Canada geese travel through and stay in Iowa with very little hunting pressure. In the past decade our local population has exploded. Prairies Edge pledges to guide you on the best hunt that we can deliver. We will provide a safe and ethical waterfowl hunt. Our guides are tried and tested. Iowa Canada Goose & Duck Hunts
In order to offer our clients the best possible hunting experience, Prairies Edge has leased fields within an 80 mile radius of Des Moines. The fields have been selected to ensure good hunting is available during the early, mid and late part of the Iowa waterfowl hunting season. Close attention is paid to every detail. Our guides, who are expert goose callers, incorporate the latest techniques such as flagging, kites and decoy spreads, using state of the art decoys. Since Iowa offers the opportunity to hunt Canada geese for 84 days, we take advantage of this and offer our customers a full range of the early season, regular and late season Canada goose and guided duck hunts. | |

A Typical Day:
After you reserve your hunt with Prairies Edge, your hunting party will be contacted by phone the evening before your hunt. At this time, the details of your hunt will be outlined. Our guided hunts begin at legal shooting time each morning and end at the discretion of your guide. Fields will be rested half of each day. By stressing game management, habitat management and blind and field rotation, we are able to keep our customers "on the birds". Most of our hunts are conducted out of comfortable layout blinds or above ground Haybale blinds. Our main goal is to see to it your hunt is an enjoyable and successful one and our past record is evidence of this. | |

ALSO OFFERING: Spring Snow Goose Hunts
Our spring snow goose hunts take place in NW Missouri around several refuges including Squaw Creek NWR from February to Mid March. Location of hunts are determined by staging location of the masses of snow geese. We also move with the geese up into South Dakota from mid March to early April. Hunts will be from legal shooting hour in the morning until 6:00 pm. We run up to 1,500 Bigfoot, Sillosocks, Custom Windsocks, and Silhouettes for this special season. Hunts take place near Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge and other key areas in Northwest Missouri depending on bird activity. All our hunts take place from either pit blind, layout blinds, or haybale blinds in surrounding fields. All of my guides are seasoned veterans of the spring snow goose season. | |

Central Iowa hunts - Walnut Creek Inn, 515-223-1212 - there are several Restaurants next door to the motel, Jimmy's American Cafe and New Bar - B - Que Restaurants.
Note: Lodging and meals are not included in the daily hunt rate. |

Hunting Rates And Packages:
Iowa Fall Waterfowl Daily Rates: $125.00 per gun (All hunts are 1/2 day hunts)
Spring Snow Goose Hunt Rates: $155.00 per gun (This is a full days hunt)
All guide fees are due 60 days prior to your hunt, and are non-refundable. |
