| We have been guiding upland bird hunters in Montana since 1987. From September thru mid-October we hunt around the town of Big Timber. This area has world class scenery and some of the best Hungarian partridge hunting in the state. Sharp-tailed, blue and ruffed grouse can also be added to your bag. On average we produce six to twelve covey flushes over points a day. From mid-October thru November we hunt around Lewistown. The focus of this hunt is for pheasant. Depending on the year, there can also be fair to good numbers of huns, sharptails and sage grouse to hunt. Come and enjoy the dogs on point, a wild covey rise and the wide open spaces of Montana. |

September in Montana. Upland bird season has arrived. Crisp mornings allow the dogs to work coveys of Sharptail Grouse and Hungarian Partridge off their morning roosts. Brush-filled draws exploding as coveys are flushed from their mid day shade cover. Single birds scattered along the way to keep you on your toes. Bring your good walking boots. Some days we will cover lots of ground in search of those coveys of birds. They do call it "Upland bird hunting at its best". Jim Laughery started Eastslope Outfitters in 1985.
