For the month of March HuntTheNorth.com field rep Jason Crook and his group were able to participate on one of Snow Goose Specialist – Scott Robinson’s premier Missouri spring snow goose hunting adventures near the infamous Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge. As Jason found out, Scott does things a little differently than most spring snow goose hunting outfitters and Scott vast knowledge and experience paid off big for the guys. About The Outfitter:
I am Scott Robinson. I have been hunting for 33 years and guiding for 27 years. In 1990 I started my own commercial service, Scott Robinson's, Waterfowl Specialists- Snow Goose Specialist. As you will find I have been doing it longer than most, at least most that are still alive anyway. I offer hunts in both Missouri and Michigan for all types of waterfowl from Sept. 1st - March 25th of each year. We have helped build Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge and Mound City, Missouri's reputation as certainly one of the
best places in the States to hunt Snow Geese and have been doing so for near a decade. We are an Avery Outdoors Approved Outfitter as well as one of only two spring snow goose outfitters endorsed by the World’s Largest Outdoor Retailer and Outdoor Travel Consultant. Recently we were featured in Ducks Unlimited by renown outdoor writer Will Brantley, titled, SNOW GOOSE HUNTERS...ASK THE EXPERT, GUIDE-Scott Robinson.

Missouri Spring Snow Goose Hunts
Welcome to the winding Missouri River Valley, where Lewis and Clark traveled on the same ground as our leased corn, soybean and lodge. It's also the same place Jesse James roamed the hills robbing small town banks and hiding out in one of our nearby barns. In the Northwest corner of Missouri lays a premier gem in the waterfowl world of North America. It's the center of the hour glass for the snow goose trek North. Since the 1920's, the Squaw Creek NWR has been a stop for millions and millions of ducks and geese; but on this hunt we will concentrate on Spring Snow Geese. For the past decade nothing has been more discussed and chased from the South to the North like spring Snow Geese and this time of year, who wouldn't? With the advent of electronic callers, no bird limits, unplugged guns and extended tubes, we're serious about helping these birds from destroying themselves and their nesting grounds.
A Typical Day:
Imagine10 - 10,000decoyingsnowgeesecomingtowithinnettingdistance,blindingsoundsandincrediblesitesawaityoualongtheMissouririverbottomsandbreaks.Thegoodol'daysarebackwithsuperbgunningonmanydaysandharvestsreachingovera100fortheveryluckyandskilledgunnerpossible.PrimedatesstartthelastweekofFeb - March 20th eachyear.Butdon'tdelay,asdatesbecomeveryhardtogetonshortnotice.Ifyourneedingweekends,advancenoticeisalmostanabsoluteeachseason.Thereisnolimitcurrently,sodon'tdelay. Partofthisenvironmentalorder / seasonarebothsnowandbluegeese,aswellasrossgeeseandit'saexcellenttimetoharvestallthreespeciesinperfectplumage.Licensingisapproximately$40andiseasilyobtainedat the lodge.

SNOW GEESE ARE CONSIDERED THE WARIEST OF ALL WATERFOWL TO HARVEST; SO OBVIOUSLY, WE CAN PUT YOU ON ANYTHING ELSE YOUR LOOKING FOR. LESSOR AND GREATER CANADA AND SPECKLEBELLY GEESE, AS WELL AS MALLARDS, PINTAILS AND ALL OTHER SPECIES OF PUDDLE DUCKS, JUST ASK. WE HUNT WATERFOWL FROM SEPTEMBER 1ST - MARCH 20TH OR SO EACH YEAR FOR ALL WATERFOWL IN MISSOURI / MICHIGAN AND DEER / UPLAND IN BETWEEN. WE HUNT MERRIAM'S, RIO AND EASTERN TURKEYS STARTING IN MARCH THROUGH JUNE 1ST. NO, I DO NOT HUNT FROM THE MONTH'S OF JUNE, JULY AND HALF OF AUGUST; BUT THAT'S WHY GOD GAVE US FISH! I SUPPOSE I WILL EVENTUALLY TRAVEL FOR A FEW WEEKS TO ARGENTINA. AT THIS TIME ANYWAY- IT’S TOO LONG TO NOT BE PULLING THE TRIGGER.
Lodging And Meals
We offer excellent food and lodging all inclusively for our Missouri snow goose hunters. We also offer day hunts. Our lodging and meals are worthy of the world class waterfowling that can be found in the area. We have separate cabins that can sleep up to 6 or 8 hunters. Each cabin has a flat screen t.v., digital sat., field stone fireplaces, kitchens, dining areas, living room, full bathroom, 2 bedrooms, mud/screen in room and dining area. Outside grilling and picnic areas along with drive to door service is standard. We also have a separate dining area, with fireplace, excellent views, on site resort liquor store, recreation and exercise room. Shells, sundries, alcohol and hunting licenses can all be purchased on site.
Hunting Rates And Packages:
We are able to hunt all group sizes, from single Missouri snow goose hunters to corporate hunts. Daily Missouri snow goose huntrates start at $175-$225.00, depending on group size and length of stay. All inclusive spring snow goose hunts start at $800.00 per hunter. Again we can customize this hunt to your needs. Prices subject to change, please email us for exact pricing regarding your package.
NOTE: To have a field exclusively to you and your group of less than 6 hunters for your entire spring snow goose hunt in Missouri, pricing starts at $1,050.00 per day with a 3 day minimum. You don't have to book a full three days, but your package rate will be adjusted slightly if you don't. You can be also mixed in with another group for additional individual savings.
