 | About The Outfitter: Outfitter Dave Ciani has been a professional hunting guide for over 20 years. Dave has live trapped and transplanted turkey’s, worked as a Special Game Protector in law enforcement, taught adult education classes on calling, turkey hunting, the life cycle of turkey’s and taught elementary school children the ethics and life cycle, calling and hunting of turkeys. Dave puts the utmost importance on the ethics of hunting and is as much a teacher as he is a hunting guide. |

Black Hills Merriam Turkey Hunts
Come hunt true spring Merriam turkeys in the beautiful pristine Black Hills of South Dakota with expert turkey hunting guide Dave Ciani. Whether you prefer Fully-guided or Semi-guided hunts we can accommodate your needs. Again this is a True Merriam turkey hunt- No Hybrids Here! On your hunt Dave Ciani will personally guide you. A Typical Day:
At High Prairie Lodge and Outfitters we offer to spring turkey hunt packages. The first is a Do-It-Yourself Turkey Hunt. With this hunt we have our hunters arrive at our Black Hills camp at 2:00 pm the day prior to the hunt. Expect a fantastic home cooked dinner awaiting your arrival. Then outfitter Dave Ciani will take you on an evening scouting mission to put a flock of birds to bed for the next morning. Once you have a lay of the land and several big toms put to bed, you will be off on your own to chase these birds around the hills for the next 3 days. This package includes all meals and lodging at our wonderful Black Hills turkey lodge.
The second hunt is a Fully Guided spring turkey hunt. With this hunt, upon your 2:00 pm arrival at our lodge, you can relax and get your guns or bows sited in for the next day’s hunt. Dave will go over with you a full gear check and make sure you are ready for the next day’s hunt. Before the hunt Dave will also go over in detail everything you can expect during the hunt. Then for the next 3 days you will experience an unbelievable, fully guided spring turkey hunt. Dave has the best blinds for his bow hunters and has the expertise that will put numerous Merriam gobblers in range for you until you are successful. If you are successful early in the hunt, there are many local attractions in the area for you to experience. With both packages all meals and lodging are included. This is a FULL SERVICE HUNT from start to finish! | |

ALSO OFFERING: South Dakota Pheasant Hunts Hunt wild South Dakota pheasants! The finest wild bird hunting anywhere! Great dogs, Pointers, Labs, or bring your own. We pheasant hunt multiple locations throughout central S.D. Habitat includes CRP grasses, food plots, sloughs, cattails and tree belts. Complete hunting packages include lodging, meals, bird cleaning, guiding and dogs. We customize your hunt to meet your specific needs, be it large or small groups, individuals or families. | Dave’s wife Teresa and partner of over thirty years teaches wonderful cooking classes and is the full time chef at their beautiful 1890 stone lodge. The meals and atmosphere at the lodge truly make the trip relaxing and complete. After a day of hiking through the hills chasing wild turkeys, it is most delightful to enjoy an evening in the jacuzzi after a 5 course home prepared meal. Trust it is not possible to hike enough miles in a day to burn off 3 square meals prepared by Dave’s wonderful wife Teresa. |

Hunting Rates And Packages:
High Prairie Lodge and Outfitters offer two fantastic spring turkey hunts. The first option is our Do-It-Yourself hunt. With this hunt you will enjoy all the comforts of our beautiful stone lodge and home-cooked meals as well as access to private hunting grounds in the Black Hills. You will also be given a full tour of the hunting grounds prior to the hunt as well as the assistance from outfitter Dave Ciani to put birds to bed before your first day’s hunt. This package is customizable to group size and length of stay.
Our second spring turkey hunting package is our Fully Guided All Inclusive Hunt. With this hunt you will enjoy all the comforts of the lodge and meals and will be personally guided by outfitter Dave Ciani on a full day’s hunt each day. Dave has all of the equipment and knowledge needed to offer you a successful hunt. He can cater to gun or archery hunters as well as couples or families. This hunt is also customizable depending on length of stay and each hunter’s budget.
Dave also offers an incredible wild bird South Dakota pheasant and upland hunt. This is a real treat for those who enjoy an all natural South Dakota fall upland hunting experience and too can be customized to your groups needs.
